Jewish Orthodox and Homeschooling
"This group will support Orthodox Jews who desire to homeschool their children. People who are interested in learning more about homeschooling children in a manner consistent with Jewish halacha are welcome to join and ask questions. We hope to have discussions on methods of homeschooling, how and what to teach, socialization, and how to manage your family's life while homeschooling. Please direct any halachic/hashkafic questions (sheilos) to your local (or not-so-local) Orthodox Rabbi."
Hello,
ReplyDeleteI am thinking about homeschooling our 7yr old with ADHD. She's falling through the cracks at school and there is no other potential placement for her. Any ideas?
Hi, Homeschooling is a great option for a kid with ADHD. I've read many stories about kids diagnosed with ADHD who lost all their symptoms once the stress of school was gone. Its important to remember that she'll need a break to decompress (deschooling) before you start your homeschooling. They say about 1 month of deschooling for each year of school she went through. Good luck! Shira
